Pokécake Decorating Showdown


In honor of National Cheesecake Day, and our location being an official PokéStop in the PokémonGo game, Eli’s Cheesecake is hosting an on-site cheesecake decorating contest from July 30th-July 31st. Participants will pay a $2 donation fee when siging up to participate in cheesecake decorating. The net proceeds will be donated to New Horizon Center for the Developmentally Disabled, a special education school. Participants will be granted 15 minutes to decorate their best Pokémon inspired cheesecakes. Once decorated, participants can enter the contest by uploading a photo to Instagram or Twitter with the hashtag #ElisPokeCakeShowdown and tag @elischeesecake. A total of 5 winners in 5 different categories will be selected by a panel of judges and announced on Monday, August 1st via Twitter and Instagram.

Eli’s Pokécake Decorating Showdown begins July 30th, 2016 and ends July 31st, 2016 at 11:59 p.m. US Central Time (CT). Information on how to enter and prizes form part of these official rules (“Official Rules”). By submitting an entry, each entrant agrees to the Official Rules and warrants that his or her entry complies with all requirements set out in the Official Rules


Eli’s Pokecake Decorating Showdown is open to any individual in the United States who participates in the on-site Pokécake decorating. Employees of The Eli’s Cheesecake Company, and its affiliates, and their immediate family members (spouse, parent, child, sibling and their respective spouses, regardless of where they live) or persons living in the same households of such employees, whether or not related are not eligible. CONTEST IS VOID OUTSIDE OF THE UNITED STATES.


To enter, participants must upload a photo of their decorated Pokécake to either Instagram or Twitter with the hashtag #ElisPokeCakeShowdown and tag @elischeesecake between Saturday, July 30th and Sunday, July 31st 2016 at 11:59 pm CT. One photo per entrant will be accepted. If multiple photos are submitted, the first photo will be chosen.

By entering the contest, entrant represents, acknowledges, and warrants that the submitted caption is an original work created solely by the entrant, that the caption does not infringe on the copyrights, trademarks, moral rights, rights of privacy/publicity or intellectual property rights of any person or entity, and that no other party has any right, title, claim, or interest in the caption.

The entry must not, in the sole and unfettered discretion of the Sponsor, contain obscene, provocative, defamatory, sexually explicit, or otherwise objectionable or inappropriate content.

The entry must be complete and accurate, including #ElisPokeCakeShowdown and only on the stated social media platforms for that day. Disguising or misrepresenting the origin of your content is cause for disqualification.


There will be a total of 5 winners (one for each category). The winners will be asked to select a 9” cheesecake of their choice available via shop.elischeesecake.com, which will be shipped to his/her house, in the United States. No prize transfer, assignment, or substitution by winners permitted. If a prize (or part of a prize) is unavailable, the Sponsor, in its discretion, reserves the right to substitute the original prize (or that part of the prize) with an alternative prize to the equal monetary value and/or specification, unless to do so would be prohibited by law.


The entries will be judged by a panel of judges, starting on Monday, August 1st, 2016.  The judges will give each entry a score 1 (lowest) through 5 (highest) in each category.  The entry with the most points in each category will be the winner of that category.  The entries will be judged on the following categories:

1)      Creativity:  How unique is the Pokécake?

2)      Most Colorful: Does the decorator use a wide array of colors?

3)      Most Detailed: Does the decorator pay attention to detail such as face/body outlines?

4)      Happiest Pokémon: How happy does the decorator’s Pokecake look?

5)      Scariest Pokémon: How scary does the decorator’s Pokecake look?


Sponsor assumes no responsibility for entries it is unable to process due to network, hardware or other technical failures, or any other reason, or incomplete, damaged, misdirected, illegible, stolen or lost entries.  Sponsor reserves the right, in its sole discretion to disqualify any person suspected of tampering with the entry process, the operation of the web site or otherwise, in violation of the rules.

The winning entries will be posted on Eli’s Cheesecake’s Twitter and Instagram. After being contacted by Eli’s Cheesecake via social media, the winning entrants will have 2 days to reply and claim their prize. In the event that a winner does not claim their prize, a runner up entry in the category will be named the winner.

In the event of a dispute regarding the online entry, entry will be deemed made by the authorized account holder of an established e-mail account associated with the entry.  “Authorized account holder” is defined as the natural person who is assigned to an email address by an Internet Access provider, online service provider, or other organization (e.g., business, educational institution, etc.) that is responsible for assigning e-mail addresses for the domain associated with the submitted email address.

By submitting an entry, the entrant gives Eli’s Cheesecake the right to use the photo and their name on any form of media, including, but not limited to Eli’s Cheesecake’s website, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest and Snapchat.

The awarding of any prize is contingent upon full compliance with these Official Rules.  Entrants agree to be bound by Official Rules. Entrants understand that Sponsor is not liable for injuries, losses or damages of any kind arising from participation in this Contest and acceptance, possession and use of prize. Sponsor is not responsible for any typographical or other error in the printing of the offer, administration of the contest or in the announcement of the prizes. Decisions of Sponsor are final and binding in all respects.
