Community Impact

What We Stand For

Every day, we are guided by Eli Schulman’s mantras: “Charity will never bust you,” and “Treat others as if you were the other.” Giving back to the community by sharing our desserts, investing in education, and providing good jobs and opportunities to the refugee community and individuals with disabilities are at the core of what we do.

Education

Educational opportunities, such as partnering with Wilbur Wright College, a City College of Chicago and our neighbor, to offer ESL classes and continued education courses to our Associates, and with the Chicago High School for Agricultural Sciences (CHSAS) to help integrate students into the world of food business through internships, mentoring, and annual scholarships, are so important to us because we firmly believe that the keystone of success is education.

Opportunity

Eli’s is proud to provide employment opportunities through RefugeeOne, an organization that resettles refugees and immigrants in Chicago.

The Happiness Club

Social Change

Eli’s is proud to support The Happiness Club (a 501c3 nonprofit), a diverse group of Chicago kids who encourage positive values and social change through the creation of original hip-hop and pop music, rap and dance. The Happiness Club’s mission is to positively influence kids through the arts, to guide them in making sound decisions and to help them become role models in their communities.

Eli’s Giving Tree

One of our most valued holiday traditions is the Eli’s Giving Tree, where each Eli’s Associate can donate desserts to a civic or charitable group that is important to them. The beautiful part is that the delivery (enough to feed over 100) is made personally by the individual associate. A big thank you to our people at Eli’s who share a passion for desserts and a desire to make a difference in the communities we serve.

Charity will never bust you.

We take pride in our commitment to supporting our community. To request a dessert donation for your non-profit organization, please fill out this form. Submit your request for dessert donations at least 60 days in advance for review.
